For so many of us our pets are not simply possessions. Instead they are members of our families. They bring comfort to the elderly and lonely; they bring joy not only to our personal lives but all that they interact with. Many of us would not go through life without our four legged companions. My own dog Chessie is the Social Bell of the community. Everybody knows Chessie, and Chessie knows how to work the system. In fact she can work a treat out of every single staff member at both of my businesses; she even receives her nightly treats during her evening walks from our neighbors. Mind you, they best have her favorite treats on board! Tell us about your own special buddies who happen to make it all worth while. The highlight of my day is always crawling in bed at night with Chessie, my American mutt, and Max, my huge shelter cat. Tell us about your best buddies and we will celebrate along with you by posting a pet of the week right here on the site. After all, they give us unconditional love. Remember they not only give us 100% unconditional love but they have served even in our armed services to preserve our rights as Americans. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations!!! LOOP OUTSTANDING PETS of the WEEK ____________________________________________ OUTSTANDING PET of the WEEK August 29-Sept. 5, 2010 Dear Loopsters,As we all know, summer is coming to an end, and we all see and feel evidence that the new schedule of a new season is upon us. Here are a few signs: pre-season football games, back to school preparations, campaign season as the primary on September 14th gets closer, returns from those last trips "down 'y ocean." The return from one trip and a FIRST GATHERING of the season has prompted the Elite Pet Committee to make its pet award decision this week. Yes, this afternoon, THE BACH CONCERT SERIES CHOIR, almost fifty members strong, will have its very first rehearsal of the season. And, don't think such seasons and gatherings are a matter of a bunch of folks just showing up at one place to sing... in this case, at beloved CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH at the Inner Harbor. And one Loopster's pet has been an invaluable cheerleader and supervisor this past week, even into the early hours of the morning, as the Bach Concert Series President is just back from a short vacation and has spent the past few days gearing up for fall and this first rehearsal, the welcoming of new choir members, and the launching of an exciting new season of glorious music-making. As part of this activity, her computer at times has practically been on fire!!! Had it not been for her beloved supervisor pet, she might have set the house afire and NEVER have slept. He kept reminding her to take a little time off and to keep things in perspective. But wait until you hear the magnificent BACH CONCERT SERIES presentations this season!!!!! Go to www.BachinBaltimore.org for more details or visit facebook to become a friend. And so, with all these things in mind, it was an easy decision to award Loop Outstanding Pet of the Week, August 29 - September 5, 2010 to this level-headed, but now exhausted, faithful pet: BUDDY owned by MARTHA J CONNOLLY and sponsored by the BACH CONCERT SERIES. See the attached photo. He'll be featured this week at www.federalhillonline.net on the Celebrate Our Four-legged Neighbors page along with the other now world-famous former winners. Again, congratulations, BUDDY and MARTHA, and thanks and welcome back TO THE ENTIRE BACH CONCERT SERIES!! You are truly an important, valued part of our extended neighborhood family! Loopsters, you MUST get to these concerts...most of them FREE! The FIRST SUNDAY of the Month, from October to June, CHRIST CHURCH at the HARBOR is the place to HEAR BACH.
