THE LOOP. PETS OF THE WEEK!

For so many of us our pets are not simply possessions. Instead they are members of our families. They bring comfort to the elderly and lonely; they bring joy not only to our personal lives but all that they interact with. Many of us would not go through life without our four legged companions. My own dog Chessie is the Social Bell of the community. Everybody knows Chessie, and Chessie knows how to work the system. In fact she can work a treat out of every single staff member at both of my businesses; she even receives her nightly treats during her evening walks from our neighbors. Mind you, they best have her favorite treats on board! Tell us about your own special buddies who happen to make it all worth while. The highlight of my day is always crawling in bed at night with Chessie, my American mutt, and Max, my huge shelter cat. Tell us about your best buddies and we will celebrate along with you by posting a pet of the week right here on the site. After all, they give us unconditional love. Remember they not only give us 100% unconditional love but they have served even in our armed services to preserve our rights as Americans.

Dear Loopsters,
Happy, happy Monday!

Time to announce The Loop Outstanding Pet of the Week.
I will also announce that we have many, many new Loopsters who are coming on board,
so let's greet some of them this morning as well. Since there are quite a few, I thought
we'd spread the introduction over several e-blasts in order to recognize them properly.

We are SO GLAD to welcome all of you to our extended family and appreciate your
support for local causes and compassion for animals.
THE Loop recognizes a Pet of the Week almost every Monday, and I hope you will feel
free to nominate your pet or the pet of someone you know for this fun community shout-out.
Through it, we not only meet pets and revel in the joy of animals, but we also learn about our
fellow Loop members and their passions and places of work and residence.

That said, you zillions of current Loopsters, warmly greet NEW Loopsters--

We have co-winners this week.
Their love-bird owners are in love with them, and the pets love them back and seem already to love each other too...
so they are perfect for FEBRUARY.
Here's their cool info:
"Both girls are rescue dogs - one from Maryland Animal Sanctuary
and one from Mutts Matter Rescue.
Lucy is a Chihuahua/dachshund mix and Marcy is a Chihuahua/terrier mix. Together they don't even weigh 20 pounds!

They are learning to play together and share things (like laps, couches, beds, blankets).
Lucy is a wonderful big sister and is teaching Marcy how to play -
Marcy didn't even know how to do the puppy play bow!

Their favorite activities: sleeping (Lucy buried under a blanket, Marcy on top);
eating (Lucy especially) and smelling things.
Lucy is curious, independent, and we believe she is part cat.
She only obeys when there is something in it for her.
Marcy, on the other hand, doesn't like to be in a room without people.

They are both great with people and kids, and we adore them.
Walk by our house and you can see them in the window - Lucy barking at other dogs; Marcy snuffling at people walking by."
